Parmy Dhillon’s Celebrates His Roots in ‘India’

We are based in a deeply multicultural country (the UK), and some of us have families living abroad. On such premises, we deeply related to Parmy Dhillon’s latest effort, ‘India’. Based in Melbourne, the talented singer and songwriter found the perfect home in the limitless Australian landscape, but his Indian roots emerged strong when faced with the death of his own father.

As Parmy explains: “The song was written as a tribute and reminder to myself after my father passed away, to always remember my culture and who I am.” It’s a strong message, one that many peeps around the world are bound to resonate with. Dhillon shares it through an electrifying and eclectic musical medium, blending Western stylings and traditional Indian formulas.

The result is a contemporary gem appealing to both cultures. Sonically, we find a pumping electronic beat filled with tribal components, all drenched in synth-powered textures and traditional Indian instrumentation. Crowning it all, we find Dhillon’s charming, electrifying vocals.
