Penned by Berlin-based outfit Para Lia, ‘Mind Song’ focuses on a rather ‘carpe diem’-type message. Urging the listeners to make the most of their time, the German group offers a stark yet honest look at something that many often forget: life is short and vulnerable, don’t wait, and push forward to realize yourself, even in the face of adversities. Such important lyricism, framed in Para Lia’s decadent sonic flair, gives way to the record’s pompous, almost legendary quality, – as if they were gods delivering a vital, hard-hitting truth.
Reiterating the inspiration behind the track, the band explain: “It is a manifesto for all those who want to experience the world with open eyes and an open heart. Life is too short to wait for the unattainable – now is the moment to go your own way and live the music.” There’s also a certain catchiness to the track, which is curious when considering the subliminal darkness in it.
