Ormella Unveils Introspective, Cathartic Gem ‘The Lamb and The Shepherd’

Remarkable. My listening experience with ‘The Lamb and The Shepherd’ prompted a meaningful nostalgia-driven, introspective moment, and a few tears might have been shed too. It’s the least I could do: faced with such potent and heart-shaking artistry, one has to reckon with it, letting the record slowly enter the deepest corner of their consciousness. Penned by rising indie-folk hero Ormella, the song carries all the qualities she’s known for: deep, reflective lyricism and blissful, tender vocals.

Teaming up with frequent collaborator Katie May – a Grammy-award-winning producer and engineer – Ormella crafts an intimate, ethereal piece, a slice of kindness and authenticity in an often superficial music landscape. Exploring the many avenues of memorialization, the London-based songstress asks herself what will be left of us once we leave, finding comfort in the unbreakable connection with loved ones.

As she so eloquently explains: “This song is incredibly personal to me. It represents a chapter of growth and self-reflection, and I hope it resonates with people in a meaningful way.” ‘The Lamb and The Shepherd’ will also serve as the official theme song for the upcoming short film ‘Waiting Room’, starring Julian Glover and scored by Guy Chambers, set for release later this year.
