One Last Job is the musical project of Texas-based indie artist Travis Klein, and the musician recently returned with a killer sophomore album in the form of ‘Been Here Ever Since’. Twelve tunes that explore the concept of gratitude and see Travis analyzing the scariness of acceptance, it’s a record filled with heart, sweat, and tears. Recorded in the artist’s living room and mastered by award-winning engineer Michael Briggs, ‘Been Here Ever Since’ is a sonic smorgasbord of epic proportions.
‘Been Here Ever Since, Pt. One’ gets the ball rolling with a punk-rock guitar riff and Klein’s angsty vocals. About halfway through, the track really takes off, and you’re now fully immersed in Travis’ passionate world of rebellious energy and gritty emotion. ’25 to Life’ then follows with a more upbeat and infectious atmosphere, showcasing the musician’s superb range and versatility.
‘Safe Mode’ is easily one of the most intriguing songs on the album, and ‘Another Night’ is just a cracking indie-rock piece all around! I’m jealous that you get to discover this record for the very first time, but I get the feeling it’ll be in my rotation for quite a while! An enchanting and wonderfully inventive album!
