Ōkubi and CHUFI Concoct Trip-Hop-Inspired Masterpiece ‘Echoes Over Wind’

In the famous words of Monty Python…And now for something completely different. ‘Echoes Over Wind’ is the brand new release from Brighton-based metal bassist turned electronic music producer Ōkubi. Joining him on the tune is Stockholm-based songwriter and vocalist CHUFI, and together, the pair have concocted one of the most interesting and intriguing tracks of the year.

A trip-hop-inspired and synth-driven piece, ‘Echoes Over Wind’ feels more like a dreamy odyssey through uncharted waters than a song. Through layers of intricate and captivating sounds, it’s a tune that pushes the boundaries of simple genres and showcases the innovative artistry of its creators. CHUFI’s vocal performance provides the perfect foil to Ōkubi’s textured production, resulting in a truly mesmerizing and unforgettable track.

Described by Ōkubi as “a mourning for a past life, and a reminder to enjoy youth while you have it,” ‘Echoes Over Wind’ is a pure and refined masterpiece. Experimental, left-field, genius!

Influenced by everyone from Jean-Michel Jarre to Bicep and techno to post-rock, there’s no limit to Ōkubi’s creative vision and musical landscape. We eagerly await to hear what he has up his sleeve next!
