The keen reader might remember Nicole Saphos from a recent feature we did for her previous record ‘Keepin’ Eyes’. Not satisfied with that masterpiece, the American talent doubles down with ‘More’, a heartwarming, slow-pace gem drawing inspiration from the golden era of heartland rock and the organic sound of the 60s and 70s.
As always, what makes the track stand out is the soulfulness of Saphos’ vocals: light and airy, capable of conveying meaningful lyrical messages with nonchalance and magnetising charm. There’s a certain songwriting flair in how melodious it all sounds: perhaps a sign that Nicole is ready for bigger records and more relevant stages.
‘More’ anticipates her forthcoming album, ‘Figure Eights’, dropping on February 24th.
