Described by the artist (and confirmed by myself) as a “dopamine shot of indie rock”, ‘Cinnamon’ is the infectious new tune from Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Nick Stone. A playful little number that’s a love song at its core, ‘Cinnamon’ captures the essence of spontaneity and late-night music production. Filled with sweet riffs, upbeat drums, a trumpet, and even a harmonica solo, it’s a track that takes you someplace else, if only for a little over three minutes.
Expertly mixed and mastered, Nick and his band see ‘Cinnamon’ as the beginning of a fresh and exciting new sonic era. “As we begin to write and record the new material, Colton and I have found great solace in our collaboration,” says the musician. “We’re truly excited to share everything else that we have in store”!
Finding inspiration in artists like fellow Canadian Mac DeMarco and acts like The Kooks and The Backseat Lovers, Nick Stone brings with him a deep understanding of his chosen genre. Crisp and modern yet with a sense of nostalgia laced throughout, ‘Cinnamon’ is one of the most perfectly crafted indie-rock tunes that I’ve had the pleasure of hearing all year!
