Florida-based six-piece Neverless have just unleashed their debut self-titled album, and it’s a dynamic and high-powered masterpiece of epic proportions! Featuring twelve tracks and a runtime of just over forty-six minutes, Neverless draw on inspiration from a range of genres and styles to create their special blend of punky, rocky ska. And, as for the concept behind the album, the band point out that “it focuses on the trials and tribulations of life”. Tunes like ‘Stomp’ and ‘Bad Company’, while both upbeat and energetic bangers, lyrically deal with themes of anxiety and heartbreak.
‘Think for Yourself’ is another track that instantly caught my attention. In a world filled with disinformation, the song reminds us to be mindful of the information we consume, and of our responsibility to seek the truth. “It simply encourages critical thinking,” says Neverless. “Something we can all benefit from”. Sonically, it has a little bit of everything, and the bass intro is just perfect!
‘Edge of My Dreams’ is a nine-and-a-half-minute outro tune that will take your breath away. You simply have to listen to it. In the words of George Costanza, “I am speechless. Speechless! I have no speech”. What an album!
