Last month, we at Mesmerized fell in love with a tune called ‘Everything Is Scary’. Courtesy of London-based singer/songwriter Nelda, the poppy and jazzy piece was one we labelled as “pure sonic goodness” and “a slice of vibrant musical energy”.
‘Home Is Where I Go’ is Nelda’s latest offering, and it sees the artist returning to that same lively, loungey, and jazzy vibe. Co-written with Australian songwriter Etoile Marley, the haunting piano melody perfectly complements Nelda’s soulful and evocative vocals and adds a touch of melancholy to the surroundings.
Serving as the second single from Nelda’s forthcoming concept album about voluntary displacement, ‘Home Is Where I Go’ hones in on the feelings of moving to another country and fitting in. Nelda interviewed musicians from all over the world who have since settled in London to hear their experiences, drawing inspiration from their journeys to reflect the essence of her project authentically.
Unique, distinctive, and profoundly honest, Nelda is quickly becoming one of our favourite artists, and we can’t wait to hear her new record which is scheduled for release sometime next month!
