One thing we appreciate about N33T is their deeply eclectic and multi-genre outlook. Embracing the modern pop frontier, the Australian project balances its artistry on mainstream tones and leftfield influences, eventually making room for truly boundary-pushing results. Part hyper-pop, part new wave and dream pop, ‘insecure’ is the perfect example of that.
Taken from N33T’s latest album ‘All the things I couldn’t change’, the Melbourne-based creative delves into bright, uplifting synth-pop on that occasion, evoking seminal figures such as The 1975, among others. It’s one of the project’s many personalities and micro-niches, and honestly, we appreciate N33T’s willingness to experiment and navigate so many different sonic liveries.
At just 20 years old, the Aussie talent has already released a wealth of records, a sign that their inspiration is not going to stop anytime soon. Speaking about ‘insecure’ and the wider album, they explain: “I started the project in September of 2021. It is in a sense a coming-of-age project. I wrote most of it during a time when I was just on the precipice of being an adult and I continued to write with that in mind even after having moved on into adulthood”.
