Multi-Disciplinary Creative BSP Debuts With ‘In my garden’

Active between London, Madeira and Italy, multi-disciplinary artist BSP releases this week her first album, “In my garden”. Bathed with infectious metaphors and stunning imagery, the record is a captivating and sultry future pop gem that’s delicious for each sense. The collection of tracks takes you on a walk through the synaesthete’s ‘garden’ which is made up of different phases of life.

BSP intertwines art and music by performing solo, engaging in a passionate synaesthetic portrayal of her music, producing original paintings while singing and playing the canvas, all at the same time. What she is aiming for is to create a contemporary and distinct composition for every performance session, engaging the viewers-listeners into a ‘blending of the senses’.

In the album, the connection between art and music and its discovery is represented by a path that begins with insecurity and winds through broken promises and self-reflection. The most recent tracks express a different approach to life and music itself, a release of the insecurities and teenagers’ emotions to make space for new awareness and determination to achieve happiness thanks to the unique skills everyone has.

Lee Oakley is the producer to most of the tracks: from the bucolic and nordic 80’s vibe to the punch and eclecticism of BSP, Oakley always manages to tie the past with the present. Colossal drums meet with mellow soundscapes, delivering diverse and picturesque tracks that don’t belong there but neither here.

An ode to uniquity, truly lost in time! The most recent BSP’s performances and concerts were at Venice Biennale 2022 (Italy) and Tate Modern (London). She is actually shooting a documentary about her performance for Sky Arts (to channel) to be aired on December 2022.
