Mötherwitz’s ‘Laser-Like Beam’ is a Progressive Rock Masterpiece

Happy new music Friday to one and all! Today, we are proud to introduce you to the London-based progressive rock outfit Mötherwitz, and their brand new Chernobyl-inspired tune ‘Laser-Like Beam’. An upbeat, experimental, gritty, and energetic anthem, it brings to mind elements of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s album ‘Polygondwanaland’. Beginning with a menacing death ray slowly approaching, the track quickly descends into a melodic and infectious sonic rollercoaster that will have you bobbing your head and tapping your feet throughout! It’s progressive rock at its finest, and I am irresistibly drawn to replay it whenever it concludes.

Citing bands like The Kinks, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Radiohead, Love, and The Stranglers as just a few of their inspirations, Mötherwitz pays homage to the icons while simultaneously carving out their own distinctive sound. It’s a sound that’s been turning heads and gaining some serious attention, with the likes of Mickey Bradley (The Undertones) giving it airtime on BBC.

With their rising status, undeniable talent, and love for getting experimental and avant-garde, this is a band that I’m incredibly excited to follow! ‘Laser-Like Beam’ is a deeply enthralling and fascinating journey, and I can’t wait to hear more from Mötherwitz!
