Mortez Develop Their Symphonic Rock Identity with ‘Sirens’

Having debuted a few months ago with ‘Pray’, Los Angeles-based symphonic rock duo Mortez are now gearing up for an exceptional year, starting with the cinematic and majestic jewel ‘Sirens’. Drenched in rock euphoria and vivid eclecticism, the single blends melancholia and fierceness in equal parts, perfectly balancing Rachele Royale’s evocative, elegant vocals with Brett Daniels’ striking orchestral atmospheres. Both keen professionals in the wider music industry, the pair has connected on a personal level, as well as a musical one, almost as if it was meant to be.

Introduced by haunting and wistful choir-like soundscapes, ‘Sirens’ then wraps Rachele’s grandiose tone among poignant piano chords and potent symphonic stabs, slowly rising the stakes and the sonic intensity. Eventually, the track jumps into a glorious rock-filled outro, with distorted guitars and massive vocals blooming into a cathartic frenzy. It’s not a playful record, it’s bound to connect with you on a deeper level.

Speaking about the inspiration behind their work, Mortez explains: “We wanted to create something epic, unique and unlike anything else. With symphonic and rock elements coming together. ‘Siren’ is unlike anything you’ve ever heard”. One thing is clear: the American pair has precise ideas about where they are headed, and they are getting better and better after each release.

Follow-up single ‘Down With The Devil’ is also out now.
