We’ll try to describe it, but ‘New Breed’ is a record that needs to be experienced. Built on electronic and psychedelic tones, the track is entirely instrumental except for short vocal effects and textures, enriching the piece in an ethereal sense. It’s almost like a soundtrack, wrapping the listeners into intense sonic charisma and otherworldly vibes. It’s a wholesome experience, fragments of musical glory elevated to enlightened reality.
Behind such a quirky and impressive record, it’s no surprise to see Mortal Prophets. A household name on this blog, the New York City-based creative is one of the most experimental figures we have come across in a long time, active in a wildly wide variety of genres and styles. Such knowledge then gets conveyed into his record, often genre-less and incredibly eclectic.
Serving as a preview of Beckmann’s upcoming album ‘The Confessions of a Sword Swallower’, ‘New Breed’ is successful in making us long for it. Speaking further about his artistry, he explains: “I’ve been working on several EPs and a few full albums in the past six months – It’s been a fruitful time right now, so I’m just running as fast as I can.”
