Monica Palmer Debuts with Transportive Album ‘We Are All Escaping’

“When I think about releasing my first record, I am simultaneously elated and terrified”. These are the words of Idaho-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Monica Palmer and yes, you guessed it, she’s just released her debut album! Entitled ‘We Are All Escaping’, the eleven-track record is an atmospheric and transportive journey filled with melancholic vibes but also uplifting moments of tenderness. Genre-wise, I’m not going to lie, it’s a toughie to pin down. It has elements of Drum and bass, chill step, classical, electro-pop, drone, and so many more. To be frank with you, it’s a record that really has to be heard to be fully understood.

Though often scarce lyrically, Palmer says the album delves into her experiences of being in relationships. “It explores how we further develop our relationship with ourselves through having experienced pain, heartbreak, regret, and healing along the way,” she says. Through otherworldly soundscapes and avant-garde experimentation, Monica has crafted a debut record to be extremely proud of!

‘We Are All Escaping’ has completely taken me out of my musical comfort zone, and I couldn’t be more grateful to this talented artist. I love every minute of this ethereal journey guided by Palmer, and I get the feeling that this album will be with me for many years to come.
