Monck Shares Sonic Maze ‘easy to get lost’

‘easy to get lost’ is not just an album, it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. An eclectic record, the long-length collection is a blend of vintage pop and rock stylings, drenched in a healthy amount of psychedelia and analogue synthetisers. The result is material that’s universal, hypnotising and highly unique, a quality which does not go unnoticed in today’s music industry. Monck is the talented creative behind such a masterpiece. Hailing from Cologne, Germany, he self-produced and performed the entire record, showcasing his advanced musical prowess.

We are listening as we are writing: right now ‘twisted’ resonates out of our speakers. The ending of the track is so intense and gritty with sleazy guitar tones and light distortion taking centre stage. Then, almost unexpectedly, ‘sunrays’ begins waving a tapestry of cinematic textures and string melodies, only to then jump back into retro rock freedom.

That’s what you can expect from ‘easy to get lost’: a complex maze of hypnotising material, in which you’ll certainly get lost. Only, it’s going to be blissful and pleasurable. Nothing to worry about here! Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Monck explains: “The compilation of songs delves into the nuanced complexities of modern existence, portraying the ease with which we can find ourselves adrift amidst the tumult of life.”
