Yes! It’s finally here! The EP we’ve been waiting so patiently for! Courtesy of London-based indie-rockers Modern Guilt, ‘We’ll Always Have Vegas’ is a five-track offering of infectious Britpop and indie-rock. A series of snapshots that the band describe as “moments across a binge, tales from the feast, and how we remember our lives and the people we encounter”.
‘Talking to Myself’ gets the ball rolling in epic fashion. An absolute earworm with a swagger that resembles The Rolling Stones, the anthemic tune sets the tone perfectly for what’s to come. ‘Joy Control’ then follows with a bit of a grittier sound, but undoubtedly as catchy and immersive as its predecessor.
‘I Want to Show You God’ pulsates with rollicking energy, before ‘How to Buy Happiness’ steps up to the plate with a mesmerising, almost psychedelic mix of Americana fused with garage rock.
‘Gramophone Remedy’ rounds off the EP, and it’s a song that I’m going to let you discover all for yourself. What I will say, however, is that ‘We’ll Always Have Vegas’ is hands down one of the best EPs I’ve heard all year, and I see seriously big things on Modern Guilt’s musical horizons!
