Liverpool-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Blue is a special talent. Since his debut release ‘The Demo Tapes’ in 2018, he’s toured most of the UK, seen his songs being featured on BBC, and played several music festivals. He now returns armed with a brand new EP entitled ‘Of the Fragile Mind’, a collection of four singles that he and his band have released so far this year. It starts off with the already well-received hit ‘Battles We Have Won’, an epic and celebratory six minutes adventure that will have you whistling and humming along to it in no time.
‘Paper House’ follows and Mike and Co. take things down a notch with beautiful acoustic guitars and delicately placed strings. The song effortlessly builds towards its crescendo before once again returning us back down to the ground. Just splendid!
‘Saphire’ and ‘Of the Fragile Mind’ are the two remaining tracks of the EP, and I’m going to let you discover them for yourselves. All I’ll say is that I’m fully on board with Mike’s sound and style! ‘The Unbearable Weight of all things Considered’ is the band’s upcoming album, and it’s scheduled for release in the fall of this year. We’ll be patiently waiting!
