Midnight Repost Return with Playful Banger ‘Blue Eyes’

There’s an alluring playful energy in ‘Blue Eyes’. Built on groovy drum grooves and an eclectic, vibrant concoction of shiny guitars and electronic textures, the record is as charming as it sounds, sharing a powerfully uplifting energy that will entice even the most apathetic of listeners out there. Taking cues from the likes of The 1975 and CAMINO, ‘Blue Eyes’ navigates the poppy indie landscape with authority, showcasing all of Midnight Repost’s creative force.

Hailing from Essex, England, the talented outfit has been around since 2020, first being Liam Priestnall’s personal endeavour, then slowly evolving into a fully-fledged musical entity with the addition of Darius on bass and Freddie on drums. ‘Blue Eyes’ is the direct evolution of such a deep growth process, and based on what we hear, Midnight Repost have all the right cards to make it, at least from a purely artistic point of view.

A rather reflective offering, ‘Blue Eyes’ manages the hard craft of pairing nuanced, meaningful lyricism with a brighter, punchier instrumental, doing so successfully. Certainly a band to keep an eye out for.
