Michellar Shares Anthemic Ballad ‘Home Sweet Home’

‘Home Sweet Home’ is an approachable, heartwarming song. It could be described as a simple nugget of poignancy, yet we’d prefer using the term ‘sensible’. Sensible as in the quality Michellar holds in great quantity, allowing her to write authentic pieces about the human condition, rooted in relatable lyricism and mellow imagery. Hailing from San Francisco, Michellar has been rather active in the past year, releasing a plethora of singles showcasing her pop prowess.

‘Home Sweet Home’ gains the guest vocals of British singer-songwriter Harrison Black, lending his charming, evocative tone to the project. The end result is certainly expressive, yet also anthemic, with the record’s finale exploding into full-band glory, still retaining its cathartic, emotional value. Think Coldplay, that’s the kind of stadium-ready ballad energy we are referring to.

Known by day as Michelle Bond, Michellar writes ‘Home Sweet Home’ using the vulnerable metaphor of a runaway who gets reunited with his father. Speaking about the wider message behind it, the Californian songstress explains: “As humans, we all are lost in some way or form. When we try and run away from those struggles, we often want to feel safe again no matter how far we take our struggles to light.”
