Michael Figueroa Debuts with Playful Earworm ‘Love You (I Don’t)’

Easing us into the weekend is ‘Love You (I Don’t)’, the sparkling debut single from Los Angeles-based indie singer/songwriter and guitarist Michael Figueroa. A short little ditty that’s only two and a half minutes long, Michael’s debut tune keeps things sonically unpretentious. Favouring a blend of playful instrumentation and honest storytelling, ‘Love You (I Don’t)’ is a nostalgia-laced earworm that just hits all the right notes!

Setting the stage for an upcoming EP that promises to explore the depths of the human experience, ‘Love You (I Don’t)’ is a taste of what’s to come from an artist who stepped away from the scene for a while. “For twelve years I have been away from releasing music,” says Figueroa. “And it has been the worst twelve years of my life”!

Inspired by the indie boom of the early 2000s, Michael cites the likes of Toro y Moi, Mac DeMarco, and Bahamas as influential to his sound. That being said, there’s an unquestionable authenticity and genuineness that shines all the way through his debut track.

Ready to carve out his own chapter in a crowded space, Michael Figueroa seems to have all the right musical know-how to craft heartfelt music that will connect with listeners worldwide.
