Mia Loucks is a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who is seriously starting to worm her way into our hearts here at Mesmerized! At the beginning of this year, she released ‘Sisko Sisko Demos’, a record we proudly labelled “a slice of softness in an otherwise hardened reality”. Now, the gifted artist returns with a trio of deeply personal and introspective new tunes, the first of which is the hauntingly beautiful ‘Light It Can Blind You’.
Described by Mia as “a meditation on surrendering to forces beyond one’s control,” the track is geniusly stitched together. Intimate, vulnerable, and transcendent, it’s a piece of music that feels like an open letter to the soul.
‘Alive’ begins traditionally with an acoustic guitar and Mia’s soft, almost whispery vocals, before eventually leading to an all-out crescendo that, while unexpected, brings a raw and cathartic energy to proceedings.
‘Ricochet’ is the final new offering from Mia Loucks, and it’s another soul-stirring song that showcases just what the artist is all about – DIY production, honest storytelling, and emotionally resonant music.
