King Crash was started when singer/songwriter and guitarist Ryan Shivdasani moved to New York a couple of years ago. After bonding with his new bandmates over a mutual love for the celebrated James Brown as well as The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Ryan and his crew got down to work. Steering themselves towards a jazz fusion type of sound, I’d like to introduce you to their remarkable brand new single ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’. A laidback, eerie, and jazzy masterpiece, it even contains elements of the blues thrown into the mix for good measure! It shouldn’t work if you think about it…But it does! And before you know it, three minutes and seventeen seconds have completely passed you by.
King Crash is an act that’s gaining a reputation for its exhilarating live shows and masterful artistry. I’m not surprised! You kind of melt away along to the tune, and I can see it being a pretty special and immersive experience to witness live. Perhaps one day…
Having grown up on a steady diet of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, I’m just so thankful that Shivdasani decided to assemble this group. They’ve taken me out of my musical comfort zone, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful!
