Introduced by a spacious drum loop, ‘No Love Lost’ jumps with both feet into indie/alt rock energy, yet maintains a certain eclecticism and playful character, making the album a potential match for a wide audience. ‘Darts & Cards (Awaiting Home)’ gets our attention instantly, also boasting Max Medalye’s vocal prowess, quite evocative and charming.
Guiding the group that takes his surname, the Tel Aviv-based creative teamed up with Russian outfit passmurny, singer and songwriter ÉMAREE and the Arbat Records label. ‘No Love Lost’ is the result of such collaborative work, packed with dreamy, bucolic guitar tones and slick drum grooves. Featuring eleven stunning pieces, the record develops its identity with ever-changing levels of fuzziness and lyrical confidence, guiding the listeners into a modulating and kaleidoscopic sonic journey.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, Medalye explain: “It draws personal experiences from the time of the COVID pandemic, impressions of life in Britain and the experience of clashing with an ever-changing world around.” Alexandra Yeriklintseva and Alexey Lermontov complete the talented line-up.
