Marshal and The Hats Release Euphoric Gem ‘Hippy In A Headband’

Proudly emerging from Wales, Marshal and The Hats are not your typical rock band. Instead, they champion a rather playful and eclectic outlook, based equally on inventive riffs and attention-sparking lyricism. The group’s latest single, ‘Hippy In A Headband’, is the strongest evidence of that. Over a modulating structure, Marshal and The Hats alternate intimate and euphoric moments, employing fast-paced riffs, punchy drums and strategic pauses.

Initially conceived by guitarist and vocalist Joshua Bromwell, the quartet would soon be completed by Luke Coe on vocals and bass, Guitar William Hammond on Guitar, and Isee Coe on Drums. We particularly appreciate the band’s lead vocals, so charming and evocative. There’s a very catchy and memorable riff that always comes before the chorus – the stuff of dreams: it creates so much tension to make the listener long for the next section. That’s particularly evident in the finale.

Explaining the lyrical inspiration behind the song, Marshal and The Hats explains: “The song describes the life of a hippy stuck in 21st century Britain through an addictive mix of noise, energy and colour.”
