Known for his nuanced and ethereal, yet hard-hitting EDM style, MARQELECTRONICA has managed to find a small niche for himself in the past couple of years, releasing a plethora of singles and an album that sounded universal, catchy and forward-thinking. A guest on our blog a fair amount of times, the Newcastle resident now returns with his latest effort, ‘Never Go Away’, a stunning electronic gem exploring a more poignant, house-flavoured direction.
At a closer look, ‘Never Go Away’ is a rather eclectic specimen, alternating poppy and cinematic sections – featuring anthemic vocals, wide piano chords and emotional strings – with darker and robotic stylings – such as typical acid-house synth bass patches and glitchy sonic elements. That’s a contrast certainly on the brave side, but one that also seems to work surprisingly well, offering the listener a kaleidoscopic vision of modern electronica.
Speaking about ‘Never Go Away’ MARQELECTRONICA explains: “All about insecurities and abuse this is a deep dance/electro banger with something to say. I chose this topic after seeing so many people being in controlling relationships with very insecure and sometimes destructive individuals.”
