Mark Vennis & Different Place Gear Up for New Album with ‘Wild Suburban Boy’

Hailing from Petersfield in Hampshire, Mark Vennis & Different Place is a rocky new-wave act who’ve just released a cracking new single called ‘Wild Suburban Boy’. A tune that will feature on the band’s upcoming mini album ‘Small Town Vampire’, ‘Wild Suburban Boy’ is a guitar-driven and gritty little number with some punk attitude thrown in for good measure. I’m obsessed with Mark’s vocal performance on the track as well – full of character and raw authenticity, they complement the soundscape expertly.

As for the meaning behind the song, the band say that its essence is one of trying to escape but being unsure how. “It’s about growing up in beige suburbs, where creativity goes to die. It’s about longing for the big city that everyone talks, writes, and sings about. It’s about the DIY ethos of punk rock and about opening your mind to everything”.

Produced by Duncan Lefeuvre of Gravel Track Music, there is just so much to love about this tune! It’s seriously catchy and features one of the most anthemic and memorable choruses I’ve heard all year! With three albums already to their name, there’s simply no excuse to not dive deeper into the musical world of Mark Vennis & Different Place.

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Wild Suburban Boy’ on Spotify now:
