Not your usual new music outfit, Marisol La Brava & A Flor de Piel is the blessed artistic union of Latin Grammy nominee multi-instrumentalist Renato Ceron and author, teacher, musician and entrepreneur Marisol Ceron. The group (which now includes their daughter too) strives to deliver traditional South American popular music to a wider audience, doing so with their nuanced vocal prowess and acoustic charisma.
‘Soledad y el Mar’ is the project’s latest effort, an elegant and enlightened rendition of Natalia Lafourcade and David Aguilar’s timeless classic. Performed with the group’s usual vocal bliss and soothing energy, ‘Soledad y el Mar’ flourishes on light and ethereal arrangements, semi-acoustic instrumentation and lots of electronic textures. It all builds the perfect background for A Flor de Piel’s stunning vocals, surfing freely on the track with class and authenticity.
The listening experience is almost hypnotising, wrapping the audience into a heavenly slice of musical goodness. What more could you want?
