Marble Raft Deliver Energetic Indie-Pop Gem ‘To Have and to Hold and to Break’

It wasn’t long ago we were waxing lyrical about Marble Raft‘s expansive and dreamy single ‘Rites of Passage.’ Admitting our soft spot for anything ethereal, spacious and cathartic, the tune heralded the exciting comeback of the Swedish indie-pop duo after almost three years. Thinking we’d probably have to wait until next year to hear from the pair again, imagine our elation when, just a few days ago, they unleashed a brand new single called ‘To Have and to Hold and to Break.’

Inviting listeners to tag along on a “tumbling nightly voyage of discovery through an eerie metropolis,” Marble Raft’s latest offering is another chewy and delectable slice of synthy goodness. Wrapped in layers of analogue instruments and featuring a twelve-string guitar, a stylophone, and an autoharp, ‘THATHATB’ has an energetic little heartbeat that keeps its rich textures both grounded and otherworldly.

“With this track, we wanted to capture the essence of a feverish night out,” says the duo. “A moment saturated with anticipation, where you let yourself go and tumble into a dazed and euphoric state of mind.” Mission accomplished you two!

‘THATHATB’ will form part of Marble Raft’s upcoming album ‘Dear Infrastructure,’ scheduled for release in February next year. A record that promises a sparkling indie-pop journey, it’s one we simply cannot wait to hear!
