Mansion on the Hill Share New Album ‘Eye Hustling’

Mansion on the Hill is releasing a sophomore album ‘Eye Hustling‘ on October 13, 2023. This ten-song album shows the artist and his collaborators rocking out to their heart’s content. They definitely go all-out, throwing everything they got into the music. The energy and happening rhythms are just what you need to get your day going.

The album gets going with the title track “Eye Hustling,” where revved guitars enter the sounds. Next, the male lead vocals come in for a great vibe. I was getting some punk in the mix as well as some indie rock and an alt vibe. The bouncy rhythms and gigantic waves of sound were really invigorating. A simmering vibe comes from the guitar on “The Girl (With The Flower Child Name).” There was a touch of Latin vibes to this smouldering song. The male lead vocals come out smoky here and I thought he imbues tons of emotion on this track. This was a moody slow burn, which I enjoyed. Some sauntering guitars give off a meandering vibe on “Bluest Skyes.” The sounds were very relaxing and the male lead vocals sounded sweet and beguiling. I thought this had a great lounge vibe everyone could enjoy.

The energy of “Chips And Divots” was on high. There were some funky vibes to this song, which sounded great. Here, the male lead vocals were gritty with a punk rock twist. Some fast guitars come in alongside some rumbling bass on “Dirty Gold.” The beat was equally revved as the male lead executed his vocals. The sound was happening and energetic, which I liked. Gradually, the music slows down. The band keeps us on our toes with a fast/slow dynamic. Some more guitars arrive at the start of “The Man (With The Tied-Dye Mind).” Out of the ether comes the male lead vocals. I thought his vocals reminded me a lot of Meat Loaf and Ozzy Osbourne. There was a grittiness to his vocals that reminded me of these artists. This was another track in the slow-burning vein that exudes tons of mood and feeling.

On “Another Boy Wonder,” the male lead vocalist howls with feeling. His vocals are paired with some acoustic guitar, chimes and harmonica. The acoustic sounds were really moving and emotionally powerful. On “When,” more acoustic guitar lights up the sounds here. The melody and tune were once more sauntering. The percussion sounded lively and offered up a great sound. I liked how there was absolutely no rushing here as the track takes its time to get realized. A sauntering drumming beat and guitars reel in a spaghetti western feel on “Keep In Step.” The male lead vocalist’s singing is filled with attitude and sass too. I also thought the guitars sounded great. It reminded me a lot of Santana. This proved to be a great way to close the album.

The punk, indie rock and alt energies on this record sounded great! The band’s chemistry on this album was also pretty tight-knit as they churned out one awesome song after another. I liked how the artist kept the ante up. Almost every song is a rush of colours and sounds – never let us down once. A great start, I look forward to hearing more from this band soon.
