The Atlanta-based musician is the brains behind a rocky and almost psychedelic musical project called MammaBear and he’s just put out his first single of the year in the form of ‘State of Grace’. Recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, Kyle, along with the studio’s outstanding assistants, set about producing a gritty, mesmerizing, poignant, and infectious tune. They very much succeed! Telling a tale of the yearning felt for a loved one who is far away, ‘State of Grace’ is a track unlike any I’ve heard for quite some time. Thrilling, exciting, raw, pulsating, superb!
MammaBear’s sonic palette is a merging of influences that brings to mind the likes of The Velvet Underground, The Pixies, Iggy Pop, and XTC. Unflinching and straight from the heart, it’s a sound that has seen Kyle and Co. experience multiple successful UK tours and pick up many an adoring and dedicated fan along the way.
It might take you a listen or two to get into ‘State of Grace’. It’s certainly not your middle-of-the-road indie-rock song. Once you “get it” though, there’s simply no looking back!
