In it, the listeners will take a deep dive into Magz’s personal experiences, as we follow her losing control and feeling hopeless – amid a sea of chaos and complexities.
Of course, the young American talent doesn’t only shine for her deep storytelling. The sonic panorama is highly compelling too: imagine gooey, haunting and modern electronica, interlaced with alt-pop elements and anthemic vocals. That’s what we found in ‘Quicksand’, a fantastic record that fully complements Magz’s evocative and fuzzy vocal tone.
Describing the intricate lyricism behind the single, she explains: “Quicksand’ delves into the feeling of being trapped and losing control. Conveying the weight of hopelessness and desire to surrender, but also desperation to find solid ground.” The track also represents a further step towards an upcoming EP, ‘Night Sweats’, expected later this year.
