Magua Unveils Electrifying Single ‘Laser’

Introduced by a hypnotizing and distorted bass riff, ‘Laser’ proceeds to hit listeners like a bag of bricks, a slice of post-rock extravaganza drenched in complex grooves and leftfield electronica. Moving at a fast pace, the track completely hypnotises the listeners, wrapping them in unmatched euphoria and sonic freshness. Simply, we haven’t heard anything like it before!

Penned by Ukraine-based outfit Magua, ‘Laser’ benefits from the group’s screamy vocals, paired with metaphorical and abstract lyricism. Overall, the composition feels like a blend between math rock bands such as Battles and metal ones such as Meshuggah. Incredibly eclectic and unexpected, ‘Laser’ is honestly one of the best things we have heard this year.

The song’s outro is pretty epic too, entering fusion and glitch territories. Speaking about it, Magua explains: “It touches on the impact of digital technologies in the modern world.” Now for the final surprise: the project is actually a one-man band, once again reiterating how bass players are superior musicians…
