Alternative indie-folk artist Madison Mccreary recently put out her debut album entitled ‘Time + Tide’, and it features nine super sweet and delicate little tunes that instantly attach themselves to your heart and soul. A misty and ethereal record, ‘Time + Tide’ fuses notalgia-laced tones with heartfelt storytelling and the enchanting power of female harmonies. Dissecting themes like dating, friendships, restlessness, and mixed emotions when going home for the holidays, Madison allows us into her head and heart, and I for one am extremely grateful that she has.
“I hope my music creates the same nostalgic feeling as rediscovering an old folded-up note in your back pocket,” says the musician. It truly does, Madison! And I couldn’t have expressed the feeling and sounds emanating from ‘Time + Tide’ any better myself. From the album’s Regina Spektor-esque opener ‘January’ to beauties like ‘Carolina’ and ‘Ghost’, there’s simply nothing to not love about this record.
‘December’ brings things to a conclusion, and leaves the listener with a strong message. “Home is not a place, it is the people we love”. I have to say…I am utterly smitten with ‘Time + Tide’. As far as debut albums go, it’s up there with the very best, and I cannot wait to hear more from this exceptionally talented artist.
