Boston-based rockers Mad Painter have graced our pages many times before. Practically a household name around these parts, the band are strongly influenced by 70s British and American rock. Think Deep Purple, Nazareth, and a little Alice Cooper. They’ve thrilled us with tunes like ‘Rock and Roll Samurai’, ‘Illusion’, and ‘Empty Bottles’, and now return with a smashing new single titled ‘Debt Collector’. Let’s dive in!
Infused with a bluesy-rock undertone and a vintage sound, Mad Painter’s latest offering pays homage to the past. Dominated by an electrifying guitar and an intentionally harsh Hammond organ, the foot-tapping track delivers a punchy dose of energy bound to lift anyone’s spirit.
The lyrics to ‘Debt Collector’ were penned by poet and Mad Painter collaborator Dmitry M. Epstein, and add a poetic depth to the outfit’s new song. The poet’s lyrics will also feature in six tunes from the act’s forthcoming album, a record slated for release next year titled ‘Island Poetry’.
We’ve said before that Mad Painter “transport us back to the classic melodic rock of the 1970s, fully embodying the spirit of the era”. Firmly standing by our words, they’re a band keeping that flame burning bright with every release!
