Typically, art is the result of committed action. Such action is in itself the consequence of a particular state of mind or a reaction to a certain status quo; perhaps a metaphorical commentary to modern events. For Luma Fade, music-making was the appropriate reaction to external and internal pressure, an outlet for frustrations and a source of escapism in light of a complex reality.
‘Lunar Decay’ is the product of such a process, and it fully reflects the environment around its conception. A mysterious, intense and dreamy stream of sonic consciousness that fully captures and mesmerizes the listeners. Built over shoegaze and dream pop influences, the album sees Luma Fade engage in what he does best, aka layering wide and spacious guitar riffs and ethereal textures, all crowned by his evocative and dystopic vocals.
Delving into immersive apocalyptic lyricism, ‘Lunar Decay’ calls for a remote, yet certainly possible future, one where all hopes might be lost, but we do retain the ability to imagine, and dream. Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, Luma Fade explains: “Each track in ‘Lunar Decay’ narrates a story from a future where Earth’s fate is intertwined with a lunar catastrophe, exploring themes of loss, resilience, and the human spirit.”
