‘Become’ is an EP that needs to be experienced, rather than described. We noticed it while listening; a three-track instrumental exploration of chillstep and future garage territories, the record is incredibly cathartic and evocative, wrapping the listeners into a crepuscular journey of poignant sonic textures and ever-evolving beats. Introspection is on the cards: ‘Become’ is the perfect facilitator for any self-reflection action.
That’s what we did. ‘Become’ is bound to steal your attention, initiating a rather deep and meaningful moment of staring into the nothingness… a nothingness that’s bucolic and heavenly, perhaps aided by the many short vocal samples found in the EP, drenched in reverb and soundscapes. ‘Distant stare’ is not a random title, now we get it!
Such a wonderful slice of electronica is brought to us by Brighton-based producer Luga, known by day as Lewis Broad-Ashman. Inspired by the rich cultural landscape around him, he’s serious about building a project that’s hypnotising and meaningful. We are confident he’ll do exactly that, judging by what we have heard so far.
