Lucid Letters Joins the ‘hit em’ Hype with ‘Glittering Dreams’

Some of you might be aware of a certain rave subgenre called ‘hit em’ – spearheaded by Drew Daniel of Matmos, who got inspired by a girl in his dreams – recently hitting the Twitter/X social sphere and initiating a whole new musical movement. Characterized by a 5/4 time signature and a precise speed of 212 BPM, ‘hit em’ might just be what our complex, hyper-digitalized and controversial society needs right now.

British songstress and producer Lucid Letters is embracing it with open arms: ‘Glittering Dreams’ marks her foray into the genre, taking a break from her usual pop-oriented programming. That said, the talented creative manages to infuse her piece with a healthy amount of lusciousness and elegance – yet still building an intense, crunchy and glitchy sonic picture.

We love it! Fresh and imaginative, the record is incredibly dreamy and ethereal, yet also hard-hitting and fierce. Balancing between deep-rave sections and lighter vocal-powered resolutions, ‘Glittering Dreams’ is exactly what we needed this morning. It blew our minds, truly.
