We often forget how simple and soothing music can be. Lucas Pasley knows it well: hailing from Sparta, NC (recently hit by Hurricane Helens), the talented singer and songwriter likes to delve into delicate Appalachian music (very folksy), writing about life and the struggle for happiness.
‘Til the end’ is Pasley’s latest effort, a stunningly soothing and melancholic jewel with a distinctively evocative flair. Lucas’ voice is just incredible: deep, raw, packed with tons of nuance and character. There’s warmth exuding from his tone and lyrics: warmth that comforts the listeners, kidnapping their total attention. Fiddles and acoustic guitars complete an already compelling sonic picture.
Self-declared an ‘old timer’, Pasley has lots of experience and wisdom to his side, the kind of wisdom that one can only accumulate through the years. A playful, tongue-in-cheek look at everyday life that’s always refreshing and healing. ‘Til the end’ is exactly that, further blended with themes of love and loyalty.
