Lou Z Shares Fresh and Edgy Record ‘Noises of the Sea’

We are truly impressed with ‘Noises of the Sea’. It’s a fresh, edgy record, yet immensely catchy and evocative. The listening experience is intriguing, as there’s a certain amount of familiarity in it. For instance: Lou Z’s raspy and sleazy vocals reminded us of the Gallagher brothers, while the production of the track is balanced between indie, pop and rock, including a generous touch of dreaminess.

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, Lou Z consolidates the vibrant and retro-flavoured production into a feature of the project. Armed with a series of tape machines and organic instrumentation, the talented creative effectively finds a path forward that ties together tradition and futurism. The result is an expansive, blissful record that’s a joy to listen to.

As a bonus, ‘Noises of the Sea’ contains a Middle Eastern-sounding guitar solo, rather unexpected, yet eclectic and perfectly at home. Explaining the inspiration for the song’s lyricism, Lou Z declares: “It’s about metaphorizing a doomed love story as sinking into a deep dark ocean. To me, the song also has a calmness to it, somewhat like the serenity of the sea.”
