Lotion Princess is an indie-pop trio hailing from the great state of Boston. Made up of Sasha Snoad, Tommy Sherrod, and Andrew Grossman, their last release was way back in 2020, so it’s seriously good to hear from them again! ‘Reassurance’ is the band’s brand new single, and it was dropped at the beginning of this month. Euphoric, dreamy, and deeply hypnotic, it’s a tune that thematically deals with a myriad of intensely complex issues. From mental health awareness to relationships, self-worth, and OCD, there is no topic that Lotion Princess and lead vocalist Sasha shy away from. It’s open, honest, and delicate storytelling from an immensely talented act.
“This song is about caring for myself when I’m at my worst,” says Sasha. “Especially when I’m mad at myself for not being able to heal quicker”. Inviting us into her world of relational OCD struggles, ‘Reassurance’ is a powerful piece of music that has really struck a chord with me.
The track will form part of Lotion Princess’ upcoming sophomore EP, which is scheduled to be released at the end of this summer. It’s an EP that I’m incredibly excited to hear because I think the band are onto something quite sonically special. All we can do now is wait!
