Loose Bolts Shares Alt-Country Gem ‘Judy’

‘Judy’ is a rather effective introduction to Loose Bolts. Born out of the nuanced genius of Nashville-based creative Ian Brice, the project navigates alt-country and Americana territories with unmatched poignancy and high relatability, making for a memorable and rewarding listening experience. ‘Judy’ is the strongest evidence of that: delving into young love and troubled romance, the single is bound to connect with a wide selection of listeners, both for its enlightened lyricism but also for Loose Bolts’ stunning vocals, so malleable and evocative.

Built over organic tones and punchy production, ‘Judy’ articulates its eclectic character on majestic fiddles, charming steel guitars and a flamboyant drum part. Closing what’s a compelling recipe, more conventional guitars and vocal harmonies help the record fall into the broader ‘pop’ category – in the sense that the song is accessible and friendly.

‘Judy’ is part of a four-track EP, ‘Temerity’, which develops into a wider lyrical theme. As Loose Bolts explains: “It’s the story of a relationship from the very start to the very end. Ultimately the record is a reflection on formative emotional struggles as he discovers how naive and flawed his perspective once was, ultimately leading to revelations in the areas of self-awareness, and the importance of taking risks in life.”
