When we took up LOGICA ABSTRACTA’s nuanced and fringe artistry, a name instantly popped up: Vadim Militsin. He’s the human behind the project, the talented sonic voyager in charge of such a researched body of work. It turns out, Militsin does like to change monikers rather often, and that this is not our first encounter with him. Yet, the way he’s able to shift references and sound palette also means that he’s able to remain always incredibly unique and original.
Going by the name LOGICA ABSTRACTA, the New York-based creative turns his attention to abstract soundscapes and liminal atmospheres, experimenting with granular processing and deep, meditative spacing. ‘Amber’ is the result of such an endeavour. Anticipating a larger album, ‘Headspace Station’, ‘Amber’ takes the shape of an EP, pairing the homonymous lead single with three b-sides. A visual counterpart is offered too, in the form of a music video for ‘Amber’.
We’d like to be frank: LOGICA ABSTRACTA is not a project that can be truly described. Its potential lies in its aural qualities, allowing for a listening experience that’s immersive, elegant and evocative, wrapping us all into introspective territories and nostalgic dissociation. It’s a great antidote to the modern chaos that we all experience in life: a slice of healing and soothing frequencies helping us to reconnect with our inner consciousness.
