You might have noticed, there’s a certain Funk flavour in the air these days. Perhaps inspired by the likes of Vulfpeck and Cory Wong, and before them by evergreen hero Nile Rodgers, peeps seem to have re-discovered what it means to be grooving, both on and off stage. Liv Crash is certainly one of them: boasting a strong guitar prowess, the Milan-based musician and songwriter is proud to be sharing his latest effort, a witty and playful take on modern Funk titled ‘Shakespeare Inspired the Boobs’.
In it, the listener will find measured and minimal musical matter, working with each other in perfect harmony. A steady bass line underlines Liv Crash’s rhythmical guitar playing, while his gritty, humorous and engaging vocals draw a hilarious fictional scenario based on lust, flirting and a comical use of the word ‘boobs’. The chorus brings a drastic change of pace to the piece, shifting the focus on rock and guitar solos, before plunging back down into deep Funk territories.
This single is a great introduction to Liv Crash’s unique style; one that blurs the lines between funk and rock, possessing both energy and melody. It is also the first step towards the talented Italian artist’s first album, ‘Cause even in this album’, releasing in July. Look out for further singles dropping soon!
