Gearing up for their upcoming album, Connecticut-based wonder group Litvar unveils their latest effort, ‘Oh My God’, an indie jewel filled with nostalgia and poignancy. Frankly, it’s a really good record. From the elegant, almost orchestral guitar-powered arrangement, to the dynamic, ever-evolving drum part, passing through the relatable, charming vocals and their dub-style effects: everything screams masterpiece.
The nostalgia side of things emerges not only from the clearly emotional piece but also from its sonic references, channelling early ‘2000 influences with modern flair. Describing the lyricism behind ‘Oh My God’, Litvar explains: “a song about confronting ego, trying to improve your cognitive thinking and mental health. To us it kind of feels like the most “Litvar” song, does all of the things we like to do, melodic verses, huge choruses, choppy electronic effects.”
Crucially, Litvar seems to be expanding their audience on a global level, a sentiment enhanced by their upcoming shows in the UK. They’ll hit Brighton, Birmingham and London.
