Liposuction Debut with Fierce Single ‘She Hz’

We connected instantly with the euphoric, fierce and cinematic brand of alt-rock so proudly championed by Liposuction. The Australian outfit manages to blend two very important things: instrumental eclecticism and songwriting expertise. Take for instance ‘She Hz’, the group’s latest effort. In it, the listener gets served punchy and fuzzy rock matter, also manifested in sapient and engaging guitar solos, while pursuing pop lenient vocals and a clear song-like formula. This drastically increases their audience, appealing to both a dedicated rock crowd and a more generalistic one.

Headed by front-woman and main visionary lead Sunday Hunter, Liposuction emerge from Brisbane with glory and character, committing to a sound that seems to draw greatly from the likes of Nine Inch Nails and Amyl and the Sniffers, among others. In fact, ‘She Hz’ is their debut single. It couldn’t have been better: based on what we are hearing, Liposuction have a lot of potential, and certainly, we have high expectations for the future.

You see, it’s easy to form a rock band, but it’s hard to make sure that the material written makes sense song-wise. The Aussie talents manage to do exactly that, delivering short and catchy, relatable gems in a distorted and aggressive framework.

Describing the inspiration behind the track’s lyricism, Hunter explains: “She Hz is a reflection

on the reckless, self-destructive, and sometimes illegal behaviours we undertake in our younger years. When I was a young artist living in Sydney I would often roam the streets, sometimes trespassing on private property like abandoned warehouses and got myself into trouble a few times. This song is an ode to those years and experiences, like looking through a window into that time of my life.”
