‘The Party Is Over’ is the twelfth single from Italian-American singer/songwriter, guitarist, and composer Lipford. After the dissolution of MANTRAM, a band that he had played in for seventeen years, Lipford embarked on his solo journey at the beginning of 2020. ‘The Party Is Over’ serves as the follow-up to ‘Back to You’, Lipford’s highly successful 2022 single, and it’s a gentle, thoughtful, and melancholic little tune. Focusing on the sad awareness of having to come back to reality once the music has stopped and the party is over, Lipford has produced one of the most dreamy, mellow, and soul-piercing tracks that I’ve heard so far this year.
Drawing on influence from some of the greats; Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Tears for Fears, Lipford crafts a sound that will no doubt resonate with listeners new and old.
With a smooth and soulful vocal delivery, Lipford’s ‘The Party Is Over’ is a touching tribute to the bittersweet feelings that come with the end of any celebration. We really hope there’s more up the sleeve of this gifted musician in 2023. We’ll be here, waiting patiently.
