At the beginning of last year, a gentle and thoughtful tune called ‘The Party Is Over’ caught my attention. Presented by Italian-American singer/songwriter, guitarist, and composer Lipford, I labelled the melancholic offering as “one of the most dreamy, mellow, and soul-piercing tracks” I’d heard all year. Having eagerly awaited to hear from Lipford again, he thankfully, just a few days ago, answered my call!
‘Sunday Morning’ is the artist’s brand new single, and it’s another absolutely beautiful piece of music that I cannot get out of my head. Led by an acoustic guitar and Lipford’s heartfelt vocals, the track gives off strong Jeff Buckley vibes, a comparison that I don’t make lightly. Underscoring the depth and emotional resonance Lipford brings to his music, ‘Sunday Morning’ is as pure and tender as it is powerful.
Lyrically, the song focuses on the end of a romantic relationship, and the feeling that nothing will ever be the same as it was. The illusion of a return has vanished, and pride and forgiveness have been thrown out the window.
Another outstanding release from this highly talented musician, ‘Sunday Morning’ lives long in the soul even when the tune has finished.
