Emerging California, Linka Moja is the latest revelation from the wave of young talents flooding the music scene with fierce, fresh and charming material. ‘Othersider’ is Moja’s latest effort, taken from her debut EP ‘Cough Drops’, a stunning collection of indie and rebellious songs, all recorded through live takes. This gives the whole record an authentic and rough edge, really showcasing Linka Moja’s gritty yet evocative vocals, able to easily command the listener’s attention.
Currently putting the finishing touches on her debut album ‘Serial Monogamist’, expected later this year, the American creative seems fully dedicated towards her artistic growth, which we suspect has been greatly influenced by her life-changing encounter with Eddie Vedder and Jack Johnson.
As recounted in her biography: It was during an unexpected encounter at Kelly Slater’s surf camp, where musical luminaries like Eddie Vedder and Jack Johnson were surfing, that she found herself faced with a moment of truth. With nothing but her passion and determination, she courageously stepped forward, grabbed one of their guitars, and began playing her original songs.
Taking such a bold and audacious risk was no small feat, especially in the presence of music legends who had undoubtedly seen it all. But Linka Moja’s unwavering belief in her music and her unyielding passion propelled her to seize the moment. With each strum of her guitar, she poured her heart and soul into her performance, captivating the attention of Eddie Vedder and leaving an indelible mark on everyone present.
