Linda Conway Shares Fragile Anthem ‘To Be a Woman’

A simple song on the surface, yet so meaningful and hypnotising. If there’s anything Linda Conway has been able to showcase in the past, is her ability to write poignant, nostalgic lyricism drenched in heartfelt emotions and personal reflection. ‘To Be a Woman’ is exactly that, a stunning stripped-back ballad with a heavy focus on Conway’s evocative, vibrant vocals.

Steeped in fragility and authenticity, the current version of ‘To Be a Woman’ wasn’t the first to see the light; a few years in the making, its present acoustic nature particularly celebrates the challenging reality of being a woman in an unequal society. Phillippa Cookman aka The Singing Guitarist and producer Andrew Scremin Felipe join Conway in giving the piece a brand new sonic livery.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, the Irish songstress explains: “I recorded this song with the intention of shedding light on the strength and significance of women in our society. It serves as a reminder of the struggles faced by women throughout history and the importance of recognizing their resilience and sacrifices.”
